What it is
Ohio's retail food rules are published in two places: the Ohio Uniform Food Safety Code, Chapter 3717-1 of the Ohio Administrative Code, and Chapter 3717 of the Ohio Revised Code. FoodCode brings both into one app you can search in seconds, on your phone in the field or on your computer at the office.

Is FoodCode an official State of Ohio app?
FoodCode is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of Ohio, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, or any local health district.
Who is FoodCode for?
Registered sanitarians, sanitarians in training and other health district staff who inspect by the Ohio Food Code, and the food-service operators and managers who want to read the same rules.
Does it work without an internet connection?
On iPhone, yes. The code is stored on your phone after the first download, and your tags and notes sync when you're back online. The web app needs a connection.
How current are the rules?
We check the rules Ohio publishes every week and update FoodCode when they change. Each chapter shows its effective date, and each rule links to the official text, so you can always confirm what you're reading.
How do I get the iPhone app?
The iPhone app is in beta on TestFlight. Request beta access and we'll send you an invitation. The web app is open to everyone now.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Create one with your email in the web app. Your account is what keeps your tags and notes in sync between your phone and your computer.
Is there an Android app?
Not yet. The web app works in the browser on any Android phone or tablet.
